Partners meet in Minneapolis
Partners Bob & Muriel Klosterman hosted the Partnership’s Midwest Regional Meeting at the Minneapolis Club, in Minneapolis, MN, on Friday, December 16.
The guest speaker was Jim Deegan, OMI, who shared “Five Lessons From De Mazenod.” The meeting was also attended by five “Come & See” Guests.
Partners Meet In San Antonio
Partner Renee Benson hosted the Partnership’s South-Southwest Regional Meeting at her home in San Antonio on Tuesday, November 8, setting a new standard for “gracious” and “classy.” The meeting and Mass were both held outside on an expansive patio overlooking her home’s pool.
The meeting included a “Partnership Year In Review” by Artie Pingolt, Graciela Etchart and Fr. Billy Morell, OMI (see Partnership Calendar for upcoming events). Special guest homilist for Mass was Oblate theologian Fr. Ken Hannon, OMI, who discussed “Staying Spiritually Centered In A Busy World.”’

Partners and Oblates from across the United States came to Chicago the weekend of August 6 &7 for the Partnership’s sixth Annual Meeting & Oblate Forum. The 2011’s theme was “A Time To Reflect,” as Chicago was the site where the Partnership was officially launched in May of 2005.

The Oblate Partnership met this year in Chicago. The annual meeting includes a report, ‘ business’ update and social time together but also sets aside time to explore an issue with an Oblate special guest, Oblate panel or mixed panel. This year, the Partnership explored the topic “Faith & Culture” with Cardinal Francis George, OMI, as special guest.

HOMI are the initials an individual may use after his or her name to indicate that they are an Honorary Oblate of Mary Immaculate. Following ceremonies this year, three Partners can now add those letters to their own name: Gayle Benson, Archbishop Emeritus Harry Flynn and Frank Hogan.

This coming September 29 through October 4, Partners and friends will attend “In The Footsteps Of De Mazenod,” a three days, 4 nights retreat in Aix-en-Provence, where the Missionary Oblates were founded.
The retreat will focus on the life of the congregation’s founder, Saint Eugene de Mazenod and how the Spirit moved him to abandon all for God’s poor.
“In The Footsteps Of De Mazenod” retreat will include travel to scenes in De Mazenod’s life in Aix, the Provence countryside and Marseille, where he was bishop.
